5 Best Places To Buy Or Build on the Sunshine Coast
#1: Secret Cove and Halfmoon Bay
Don’t let Halfmoon Bay’s smaller size confuse you: this community has some of the best coastline and beach access points around. If you love boating, kayaking, hiking, or mountain biking, this community should be on the top of your list.
And a word to the wise: if you’re interested in the Halfmoon Bay area, there are lot of beautiful homes as well as great acreage along Redrooffs Road.
#2: Whittakers at Pender Harbour
Whittakers is a new, exclusive development with 25 lots. You can choose to build on a narrow peninsula or on a rocky bluff, building a custom home.
And Pender Harbour, of course, is a beloved community on the Sechelt Peninsula, known for its marinas, diving, salmon fishing, and thriving music scene. It’s a great place to live. All of our beautiful freshwater lakes are located here, and it offers tons of camping and outdoor activity options. Most of the lakes do not allow motorized boats, making them the perfect place for a swim. We just completed a custom build directly across from Garden Bay Lake!
#3: Farrington Cove
If you’d like to be near Pender Harbour, Farrington Cove is another great choice for your new home. This is another new development, with 51 properties nestled within the protected harbour. It’s a great choice whether you’re looking to build or buy a home, especially if you’d enjoy preferred access to a semi exclusive slip marina.
#4: Mossy Rock
Mossy Rock is located in the heart of Roberts Creek, a small community in the Area ‘D’ of the Sunshine Coast. It’s an especially great place to build a family home, as it’s a well-established neighbourhood with a trail to the elementary school. It’s also within walking distance to the stunning beaches.
Plus, many communities on the Sunshine Coast have a thriving arts community, and Roberts Creek is no different, complete with an annual festival and art crawl.
#5: Upper Roberts Creek
If you love the Roberts Creek area, we also suggest looking along Lockyer Road and Tanager Place. Here you’ll find some beautiful acreage lots and homes. This a hidden gem with a limited number of vacant lots still available, mostly tucked into the beautiful forest (perfect for building a home that is one with nature).
