Introduction to the Building Process

We offer services for any and all steps along the building process. Whether you are at the start of the journey towards a new build as a first time home buyer, plans have been created, or construction is already underway. We are here whenever you need us. Although our project preference involves full home renovations and custom home building, we are more than happy to work with clients on smaller-scale projects. We pride ourselves on building lasting working relationships with our clients and value that beyond the scope of projects. 

STEP 1: Initial Consultation

The first step of our building process begins with a consultation. Once our client has reached out to us through our website or email, communication will begin with contact from a member of our team, through email, phone, or arrangement of an on-site meeting. We are flexible and want to create a personable and individualized experience with our potential customers. We will gather information on our client’s building needs, budget, timeline and project vision. During this early stage, we discuss in more detail who we are as builders, how our operations work, similar projects we have completed and ensure our ideas for budget and time frame match with our clients’ expectations.

STEP 2: Architecture and Design

Once we have coincided a budget, general schedule and scope of work, we can begin pre-construction. If structural plans have not been completed, this is where that will take place. We  involve varying professionals, based on our clients needs including; Architects, Engineering and Designers, to work with our clients to create and plan out the design for their project keeping the target budget aligned in this process.

We also involve trade partners to provide pricing for their respected portion of the project so we can fine tune a budget figure.

 

STEP 3: Estimate and Contract

With the project design and plans completed, we provide a detailed estimate, working with our clients to ensure timelines and budget figures are aligned. Once the details are agreed upon, a contract is signed and we can begin to build your dream home!

 

Step 4: Insurance and Permit Application

We take care of the paperwork and contract documents along with obtaining required permits and submitting plans to the local authority for planning approval.

 

Step 5: Construction

Here we get into the good stuff, construction is underway. This is a good time to ensure most of the detailed selections for the project are made, such as fixtures, cabinetry and flooring. 

A project supervisor is assigned to this project to ensure a seamless flow of trades takes place and that the project timeline and budget remains on track. They provide regular updates to the client and answer any questions or concerns.

We utilize online programming that allows our customers to see real time job costs, daily updates, and an overview of the project as it progresses through each phase of construction.

Our company is proud of the hard-working carpenters, apprentices and labourers we employ that ensure quality and timely craftsmanship and operate respectful, clean sites. 

Ongoing communication during the entire construction process ensures a smooth and positive experience for our team, trade partners and customers.

 

Step 6: Final Walk-Through

Once construction is finalized, we conclude with a walk-through of the project to ensure complete customer satisfaction, review upkeep and maintenance of the varying components of the build, and discuss warranty coverage.
