The Treehouse is a unique custom home build nestled among the trees on the Sunshine Coast, BC. Built with conservation in mind, this home was designed with the natural surroundings of the lot at the forefront. During construction, we’ve carefully constructed the upper and lower decks around a beautiful, mature tree, making it a central feature of the house. The Treehouse offers a perfect mix of comfort and practicality while showcasing our client’s commitment to preserving the environment.

Navigating a Steep Lot

Building on a steep lot presents its own unique challenges—our team has risen to the occasion with exceptional skill and collaboration. The site’s significant incline required meticulous planning and execution, especially since the house is situated at the top of the lot, adding considerable height and complexity to the build.

Despite these obstacles, our team has made amazing progress. The exterior cladding is now complete, marking a significant milestone in this challenging yet rewarding project.

Conservation at the Forefront

Maintaining the biodiversity and natural habitats on the lot during this project was crucial to the owners and preserving the trees was a priority. The homeowners specifically requested a design that would allow them to feel close to nature, enabling them to reach out and touch the trees from within their home. To honour this commitment, we made it a priority to preserve as many trees as possible, working closely with our crew and sub-trades to ensure minimal disruption to the natural surroundings. We worked with Gnar Inc. to create signage that reminded the on-site team to tread lightly and be mindful of the natural space around them.
