Perched perfectly atop the rocks in the tranquil forests of the Lower Sunshine Coast, is The Fjord. This imposing custom build, placed purposefully between the trees, is an intentional and unpretentious build. With its modest footprint, The Fjord tells a story of the simple pleasures in life; and a key feature of the home being its ability to help you enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds you.

INSIGHT

The homeowner's (J+ L) vision for The Fjord was clear: they wanted a space where they could entertain, relish family moments, and also enjoy the peacefulness of the location. Their dream wasn't about expansive rooms; but about warmth, intimacy, and crafting the perfect backdrop for relaxation. The Fjord is a space for creating memories, but also a cozy sanctuary to decompress at the end of each day.

THE OUTCOME

Elevated Serenity

Although The Fjord is hugged by an ancient forest, and a number of trees, the interior is bathed in light, thanks to the expansive windows. It's a space that feels lofty and airy, while simultaneously feeling cozy and grounded among the trees.

Each window has a “framed-art” quality, setting the scene of the ever-evolving landscape outside, filling the interiors with life and bringing the energy of each season into the space.
